How to use the site?
Basically there are four categories:
1) people only interested in Home Exchange = HE,
2) people interested in Home Exchange, but who are also willing to receive guests = HE+,
3) people who are only looking for Free Accommodation = FA,
4) people looking for Free Accommodation and also willing to receive guests = FA+.
Subscribe yourself in the category most suitable for you and after that you can search the members database.
Home Exchange:
If you want to swap your house or appartement for someone else his place, select HE or HE+ category. When searching on the site, select the checkbox:
I am looking for... ... a real Home Exchange.
… and you will only get to see other people interested in Home Exchange (either in HE or HE+ category).
Browse the profiles and send them a message to initiate contact.
Free Accommodation:
Some people are simply not able to open their house for guests, because they live with their family or because there is not enough room. We also noticed that people from second or third world countries can be shy about their own homes.
Don´t be!
Travellers from first world countries are often very interested in meeting the “real” people in other countries. If you open up your house to travellers, you will meet the nicest people and they will invite you to their homes.
When looking for free accommodation, select the checkbox:
I am looking for... ... free accommodation. Like a spare bedroom, a couch or maybe just a coffee with a local.
… and you will only get to see people who are willing to receive guests in their homes. Browse the profiles and send people a message to initiate contact and take it from there.
Successful exchanges and accommodations
Your success rate will grow if you have an extensive description about yourself and your home, AND if you upload your pictures. Pictures of yourself, of your home, of your neighbourhood, of fun things to do in your area…
People, like yourself, would want to know who is behind that digital profile. So show them! Nobody will let a stranger into their house. The more information you give about yourself the more trustworthy you become and the bigger your chances will be on a successful exchange or free accommodation.
This goes for all categories, for those looking for free accommodation and/or home exchange.
